Introduction

The 8th month will consist of adding more food options to your baby’s diet plan. After the successful completion of the 7th month, week 1 of this month would require you to prepare about two food items per meal to meet the daily nourishment requirements of your baby. If the ingredients are not available, you may choose to feed just one food item but try to include more in the next meal. And, there is some good news for you – you can replace one more breastfeeding session with a healthy cooked meal. So now, your little one will have three cooked meals and about three breastfeeding sessions. These meals can include steamed, stewed and boiled ingredients with maybe a tiny bit of spice (optional). The quantity of food per meal can also be increased a little, and some cooked vegetable strips or cubes, or ripe fruit slices can be served for your child to enjoy on his own. If your baby does not consume enough meals, you can add one or two snacks as well for him.
