Here's How You Can Keep Your Baby Engaged

Ever wondered what fascinates your little bundle of joy? Is it books? Is it toys? Well, the answer is neither of the two. Your little one gets fascinated by everything he sees. Yes, he is fascinated by his surroundings. Everything that he notices in a park or at home amazes him. Your baby will be curious to know about the things around him. So you must give them the things that will help them learn about his surroundings even more and keep him busy. In this blog, I will share some tricks that you can try to keep your baby happily engaged.

I am a mother of a 9-month-old baby and my house is full of rattles, musical books, toy trains, toy trucks, and the likes. He plays with these toys but there are a ton of other things he likes to play with even more.

If you have a baby, you can engage him in all sorts of activities that will promote his development. You can give him a small bottle filled with colourful beads that roll and make a sound. This homemade toy is sure to keep your little one busy for a long time. However, you must make sure that the bottle is closed tightly so that your baby can’t open it. You can also try giving him colourful straws to nibble on. You can store them in the refrigerator for some time before giving it to your baby. The cooling effect would help your teething baby.

Another thing that you can give to your baby is a bottle filled with colourful water. You can use any watercolour you want or mix two-three colours before giving it to your baby. He may also enjoy playing with utensils. Banging utensils is a fun activity for a baby!

You can give the lid of a small pressure cooker (make sure the lid is not heavy). Trust me, your baby will spend hours trying to remove the whistle from the lid. You can give him pots, pans, or bowls to play with.

Babies between the ages of 7 and 9 months also start playing with a balloon. Make sure the balloon is big enough for your baby to hold with both his hands. (Try to be near your little one while giving him a balloon to avoid any injury in case it bursts).

Babies love experimenting with textures, so give your baby a book with different textures pasted in it and guide his fingers over and see him enjoy the feel of it.

So, moms, there are a lot of things around you to use and make them fun for your baby. Once your baby reaches turns 9 months of age, he will need a lot of toys to explore more and more. But these toys need not be regular toys. You can use the daily objects to keep your child engaged. Happy parenting!
