Badami Paneer Curry

When it comes to curries, a paneer curry is one of the most loved dishes among kids. Thankfully, there are umpteen ways of making it and today we are sharing one such versatile way of making it. Almonds are used in its gravy with gives it a nutty and rich taste. Just pair this curry with chapati or plain parathas and watch your kid enjoy his lunch.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup paneer, cut into cubes or any other shape
  • ¼ cup tomato puree
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp garam masala
  • ¼ tsp cumin powder
  • ¼ tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp cream/milk
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 green cardamoms pounded
  • 1 tsp chili paste
  • Salt to taste

To be ground into a smooth paste

  • 10 almonds
  • 1 whole Kashmiri chilli
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 1” ginger piece

For garnishing

  • ½ tbsp julienned ginger
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander.
  • Flaked almonds

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a pan and add the chili paste, pounded cardamom and sauté for a few seconds. Then add the prepared paste and cook it on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.

Step 2

Add the tomato puree, salt and all the spices, except garam masala. Cook it for another 3-4 minutes. Add the sugar and cream.

Step 3

Now add the paneer cubes and simmer for two minutes. Add garam masala and stir.

Step 4

Transfer into a serving bowl and garnish it with julienned ginger, chopped coriander and flaked almonds.

Tip: Along with the paneer you can also add boiled mix veggies – like carrots, peas, beans and cauliflower for a badami paneer and mix veggie curry.
