Mint Muddle

Beat the heat this summer with this refreshing drink. Mint leaves have antioxidants and phytonutrients that can work wonders for our body. The menthol present in mint helps in digestion by relaxing and smoothing the muscles of our stomach, thus, reduces the chances of indigestion, constipation and spasms.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg mint leaves
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

Method

Step 1

Wash and soak mint leaves for 15 min in water. Remove from water and let the leaves dry on a cotton cloth.

Step 2

Once the leaves are properly dried, crush them in a mixer ( without water) and make a smooth paste. Now, seive the paste so that you have only fine mint pulp and keep aside .

Step 3

Heat a pan, add sugar and water together and boil till you have a thick sugar syrup. Now add the mint pulp to the sugar syrup and boil for another 5 min.

Step 4

Add a pinch of green color to the mint syrup and let it cool down completely.

Step 5

Once cooled, remove in a glass bottle and you can store this in the fridge for 2-3 months.

Step 6

Now for the muddle, take a glass and add 2 tbsp mint syrup, 1tsp lemon juice and cold water.

Step 7

Garnish with a lemon slice and serve.
