It’s been nearly 19 months since my super energetic boy was born and I still clearly remember when he was placed in my arms. From the time I started feeding him to till date, when I have to run after him, has certainly made me a better human and has inculcated a lot of patience in me.
There are times of happiness, followed by some days of feeling guilty and sad (as I am a working mother, and I’m sure almost all moms go through the same). I have found that being a mother is not at all difficult as you need to just be yourself with your baby. I have read through many articles saying that it’s quite tough and tense to raise a child. It’s, in fact, a challenge to make a child grow up to be a good human being – this too has been said to me by many.
In my journey of motherhood, one thing I have particularly understood in the initial days that you just can’t have control on all the things like you used to do earlier. Everything takes its own time and you need to respect it. For a new mom, one should try to be yourself as much as you can but at the same time, by not enforcing anything on the child, you can be the mom you want to be! Of course, many mothers may not find it simple and agree to this, but who wants to be perfect? The fact that many of us want to be the ideal mother for a child and expect the same from them it’s not good for the long run. The moments you pick while you are enjoying and simultaneously raising your baby is actually the most soulful & fun-filled journey any mother can look forward to, and for that, no mother needs to change herself. My child is my soul and anything which makes him happy makes me as well.
