Out of the many ways to roast a pear, make yours maple-balsamic. Its tangy sweet-sour taste will keep your family reeling for more. Have it as is or pair them up with your oats in the morning. - 4 ripe pears, cut into half
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Zest and juice of 1 orange
- 1/4 cup mixed nuts, toasted
Keep the oven for preheating to 400°F.
Remove the core from the pear halves
In a pan, melt coconut oil over medium heat.
Quickly place the pear halves flesh-side down and let it remain for a minute.
Sauté for 5 minutes or until each side gets lightly browned, and remove from heat.
In small bowl, mix maple syrup, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, orange zest and orange juice.
In an oven-proof pan, keep the pear halves flesh-side facing upwards and drizzle the liquid mix evenly over them.
Transfer the dish to oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until pears are soft and caramelized. Remove from oven, sprinkle the toasted nuts and serve.
