Kaju Katli / Kaju Katri

This Indian traditional sweet is loved by almost everyone from kids to elders. Healthy, sweet, soft Kaju Katli melts in the mouth & is absolutely delicious. This super tasty Barfi made up of Kaju (cashews) is truly mouth-watering & makes everyone pick this decadent sweet course over & over again.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cashews
  • 1 cup powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup milk powder
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • Pinch of nutmeg powder (optional)

Method

Step 1

Take a double boiler, bring water to a boil. In the top hot pan, add powdered sugar & milk, stir continuously.

Step 2

Grind cashew very finely (dry grinder will do the job best). Take powdered cashew in a mixing bowl, now add warmly done sugar & milk powder mixture.

Step 3

Add cardamom powder & a pinch of nutmeg powder.

Step 4

Knead the mixture, adding a little water as per requirement.

Step 5

Knead until it becomes a smooth uniform dough & cashew starts releasing the oil.

Step 6

Using a rolling pin, roll the dough uniform to desired thickness. For easy rolling grease rolling pin with ghee or use wax paper.

Step 7

Cut into the diamond shape with the help of sharp a knife or Pizza cutter. Store in refrigerator & serve at room temperature.
