After an ecstatic and probably trying week 1, week 2 is going to be another interesting ride for you and your little one. This week, you will be introducing him to some more foods. You can now add more pureed, strained or stewed food items like mixed fruit, vegetable purees, mashed potatoes, porridge, soups, etc. The baby can be fed twice a day, and the breastfeeding sessions can be alternated. You can choose any vegetable or fruit suitable for your baby, depending on its availability, or you may follow the table we have provided below. It is also fine to give your baby the foods he liked in the first week, but always try to introduce some more ingredients to feed him a nutritionally balanced meal.
In the second week of the 6th month, your baby will be introduced to more foods. He probably has some favourites from the first week and would respond differently to some new foods. This is, however, a great time to start keeping a log and track the foods you feed your baby. Making a note of whether he likes them, consumes them easily or develops an allergy is a great practice to keep a close eye on your baby’s health.
