How It Feels to Be a Dad for the First Time!

The greatest joy is when you overcome so much pain and finally end up where you want to be. In other words, giving birth to your baby. For a woman, nothing else will top this.
But what about men? You have not felt the baby move inside, and you have never experienced a baby kick! All you have ever done is to see your partner react with joy whenever she felt the baby’s feet kick her. You then had placed your face or hands at the exact place where the baby had kicked last. Your contribution until then has been to plan for the new arrival. You calculate, and as you finish, you end up being nervous. You dream, and you wake up feeling anxious. You have now taken your wife to the hospital.
You have always had a devil-may-care attitude. Now that has vanished without a trace. You sweat, and your mind is in a spin. It is worse than when you were in an exam hall forgetting answers for questions you never studied. You panic inside, but you hope your face doesn’t give anything away to those near you.
And before you know, it’s time. It’s time for the most beautiful cry you are ever going to hear.
You visualise so much, but nothing ever prepares you for the occasion that is about to change your life forever. At that moment, the whole world freezes. Only the movements in your baby’s face concern you. A sense of responsibility washes over you which you’ve never felt before. You knew at the time of marriage that you then would always have someone to live for and come home to. Now, the number has doubled. At that exact second, the baby opens the eyes, and you realise that you are ready to do anything for those two eyes that are now watching your face with so much interest. You are now ready! You don’t need an army to feel secure. You just need a couple of soft little hands to touch you to make you feel invincible! Only those eyes matter now! Hello world, what have you got now?!
