Q.
my daughter is four months old.She is sucking her hands and leg.While drinking milk also if any gap comes she is sucking her hands only and because of this she is not drinking milk properly.....She is trying to crawl now....Any toys that are safe to keep in her mouth so that she can forget sucking hands....???How to make her drinking breastmilk....???

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 5 m old boy2 years agoA. finger, thumb, hand,things insertion in the oral cavity is very normal at this stage and usually it is due to teething pain the child is experiencing along with inflammation and pain in the gums.
just maintain hygiene of the child finger as well as any type of things which goes inside the oral cavity and also try to maintain the hygiene of your finger when you are touching the hands of the child.
to decrease the teething pain ysou can press the gums of the child and if the child is very irritable and crying for pain you can give paracetamol also.
it is a self limiting habit and no treatment is required.
but if hygiene iss not maintained then dirty things going inside the oral cavity can cause infection fever vomiting and loose motions.

sucking hands and legs is completely normal
don't worry about it
take sunbathing daily with her head and ears covered
please don't let her suck the remote , ceel phone and mall trolley etc
