A. Babies cry for various reason, like when they are hungry, bored, hot or cold temperatures, dirty diaper, uncomfortable clothing, hair around toe, gassy pain, mosquito bites etc. Try to soothe baby accordingly figuring out the cause. Keep a cool and calm environment at night and keep lights and noise level low. Dont talk or interact with baby when he wakes up at night. Keep day time well lit and play or do lot of activities. Baby could be having teething pain. So try to give a gentle massage to baby's gums with a soft cotton cloth or finger brush. Give a chilled teether or washcloth for relief from teething pain. They can be on nursing strike as well.. just keep feeding.. don't lose hope.. keep changing the place.. position.. make the room dark n feed.. try playing music.. try something but keep feeding..Read about hunger strike... Also no need to introduce formula. Start dreamfeeding the baby and keep a watch on pee count which should be 6+ in 24 hours. For more guidance join the Breastfeeding support for Indian mothers group on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/breastfeedingsupportforindia For gas problem make sure you burp baby after every feed. Walk around with baby's head on your shoulder and supporting her neck gently bounce. It is fine for breastfed babies to not poop for upto 5 days . Give tummy time daily for a few minutes multiple times. Gently massage your baby's tummy with castor oil with fingers and keep a warm water towel for few minutes. Cycle baby's legs with your hands gently after every feed. Also keep baby upright in standing position holding with your hands for support few minutes after feed. This helps the poop to travel down with gravity.  A young child explores the world through her mouth. Suckling and putting fingers or things ino their mouths is important for their development. In the first year, with your baby putting toys in the mouth, you are sure to be concerned and will try to prevent it. However, the mouthing process is perfectly normal and means that the baby is learning to explore, and therefore, this phase is also called the phase of oral exploration in a baby’s life. Using their mouths and hands, babies explore and learn about different shapes, textures, materials, odours, tastes, sounds, and so much more Staing as early as 7 to 12 months, babies start mouthing objects. Normally by the age of two years, they start using their fingers to explore things around them. And, by the age of three, most children would have stopped putting objects into their mouths.
