Q.

#AskTheExpert Hello Doctor, I am a mother of 6 months old baby. I had a normal vaginal delivery. I gained lots of weight during pregnancy and postpartum I could not be able to reduce much weight. I am doing regular exercises and also following some diet. But still not seeing much difference in me. Can you please help me with some tips for this.

A. Your body will actively put on weight in order to keep it ready for breast milk production and that’s why this fat is also stubborn. Don’t expect miracles in a few days because your pregnancy hormones will be still on high and you can work out regularly but don’t do portion control as long as you’re exclusively breast-feeding your babyWrite Your Answer Here

A. Post delivery weight takes time to reduce and go away. Keep doing regular exercises like squats, brisk walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, breathing and Yogasnas. Include fiber and protein rich foods and restrict intake of sugar, rice, potato, fried and packaged foods. Drink plenty of fluids. Also, drinking warm jeera or lemon water first thing in the morning will help too.
