SnackAttack Spicy Falafel Wraps

What do I look for in a snack? Just the right mix of spice, flavours and all things nice! These wraps are tasty and ready in a blink. Make sure you use fresh veggies, olive oil and whole-wheat flatbreads/rotis to keep the dish as healthy as can be.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chickpeas (soaked overnight)
  • 1 onion
  • A few garlic cloves
  • 2 teaspoons cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Olive oil
  • 2 whole wheat flatbreads
  • 4 tablespoons parsley
  • 2 tomatoes
  • ½ cup cucumber
  • 4 tablespoons hummus
  • 1 tablespoon chilli sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper as per taste

Method

Step 1

Make the falafel mixture by combining chickpeas, cumin and coriander powder, chopped onion and garlic, parsley and some salt in a food processor.

Step 2

Form ball-size spoonfuls of the falafel mixture.

Step 3

Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan.

Step 4

Flatten the mixture with your hands to form patties.

Step 5

Fry the patties on both sides until crisp.

Step 6

Mix parsley, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper in a bowl.

Step 7

Spread some hummus inside each roti.

Step 8

Arrange the chopped salad on top of the rotis.

Step 9

Place the falafel patties on top of each roti.

Step 10

Roll the rotis and bake for around 1½ minutes until crisp.

Step 11

Add a dab of chilli sauce on top and you’re done!
