My 6 year old daughter watches Peppa Pig with full excitement on TV. It is a 20 minutes show with 4 different stories of 5 minutes each. I see her giggle, laugh, and also sometimes she just sits and watches without even uttering a single word. Those 20 minutes, she is with Peppa Pig and her family entirely. And every night when we go to sleep, she narrates one of the stories to me and her dad. Many a time, even we watch Peppa Pig along with her.
Peppa Pig has a “Mommy Pig, Papa Pig, Peppa Pig (a small piggy of 6-7 years old ) and her little brother George.” The family seems to be so perfect. It is not only a cartoon show, the stories take us on a journey of Parenthood. So beautifully both the parents handle their kids. Celebrate all moments, enjoys rains and jumping in the mud with the kids. How beautifully all the episodes have been designed, that it leaves an impact on the children’s brain as well as help the parents to tackle certain situations. It does not show any negativity but always shows how kids and siblings behave with each other and in family. Every episode has something to learn. Few beautiful lessons I would like to narrate about this family that we as parents have started to implement.
1. Narrating bedtime stories turn wise, no matter how tired we are.
2. Listen to the our kid’s problem patiently, and try dealing with that politely.
3. Try to enjoy with the kids by involving ourselves with them in their games and activities.
4. Appreciate them for whatever new they learn or try to learn, though they might not be up to the mark.
5. Allowing them to settle their fight with their friends themselves.
6. Giving them some space.
Let your child see this programme and you shall definitely see change in her behaviour.
