Healthy and Tasty Porridge Recipes for Babies

Hi everyone, this is my first blog. In this, I will be sharing food recipes for babies. These should be given to your baby only after six months. Exclusive breastfeeding should be done for the first months.

1. Raw Banana Porridge

Ingredients needed:

  • 2 tsp raw banana powder
  • Jaggery
  • Water

Method of preparation:

  1. Take 1 small cup of water and add 2 teaspoons of raw banana powder. Mix it well.
  2. Then place a bowl on heat and add this mixture to it.
  3. Allow it to boil with continuous stirring.
  4. In another pan add sufficient amount of jaggery with 1 teaspoon of water and allow it to boil.
  5. Add this jaggery mixture to the porridge using a sieve. Then mix it well till the mixture becomes thick.
  6. Then turn off the flame.
  7. Your banana porridge is ready! Give it to your baby when it’s at room temperature.

*How to make raw banana powder

  1. Peel off the banana skin and cut the banana into small pieces.
  2. Place them on a clean sheet in a place which receives direct sunlight for drying.
  3. It needs to dry well.
  4. Then add the dried banana pieces to a mixer jar and grind it to a powder.
  5. Store the powder in an airtight container.

2. Ragi Porridge

Ingredients needed:

  • Ragi powder
  • Jaggery
  • Water

Method of preparation:

  1. Add ragi powder into a glass of water and mix it well.
  2. Then place it on the stove and stir well.
  3. Allow it to boil. Continuous stirring is needed.
  4. Then add the required quantity of jaggery to it.
  5. If the porridge is thick, add sufficient amount of water, and continue to boil it.
  6. Your porridge is ready.
  7. Give it to your baby at room temperature.

3. Sooji Wheat Porridge

Ingredients needed:

  • Sooji wheat
  • Water
  • Jaggery

Method of preparation:

  1. Soak the sooji wheat for at least four hours.
  2. Squeeze the sooji wheat in soaked water. You’ll get the milk of sooji wheat.
  3. Sieve it and add it into a pan and place it on the stove.
  4. Add the required amount of water. Continuous stirring is needed.
  5. Add jaggery to the mixture. Allow it to boil.
  6. Turn off the flame.
  7. Give it to your baby at room temperature.

Feed your baby these three porridges on alternate days. Ragi can be avoided during the rainy season. And wheat can be avoided on hot days.
