I am a mom of 8 months old kid. I was apprehensive about how to entertain my kid, how to make his day happy, how to make sure he enjoys every single moment of his time. I tried everything- ballons, toys, music, play gym, swing etc but none worked. Finally my mom decided to step in and help me out. She just said-” try to bring out the baby in you” and the world turned around for me. I realised, that he didn’t need all these things, but he just needed me. I had to become like him, had to take “active”part in all his screams, play, babble, tummy time and all. Now I make sure to finish all my work before he wakes up, and remain free, so that with him I can be a kid again!
Today I thank my mom for her advsie, and can see how happy my kid is,when I become his active playmate.I am sure, if you too can be the same for your kids, they will love it.Kids just need your time.
The other advise my mom gave me is to not compare my kid with others.
It’s a human tendency to ponder over this issue. But as my mom, who is a gynaecologist, said that every kid is different, every kid’s ability is different, you just have to be the guiding light and let them flourish on their own, with this support they will shine to their best ability. It’s after parenthood I realised how much goes into raising up a kid.
The amount of sacrifices, the patience, the perseverance, the dedication. I take this opportunity to thank my parents for all the efforts they put into raising me and my brother. Without your support and love, all this we have today, wouldn’t have been possible.
Thank you first cry for this forum.
