Here’s How I Lost Weight After Delivery
I am a mother to a 15-month-old baby girl and I am the only one in my family who takes care of her. Apart from taking care of my daughter’s needs, there are a lot of household chores which I have to do. While taking care of my baby and managing household activities, I never got the time to take care of my health. So the first thing that I did was to learn to manage time. I wanted to lose weight post-pregnancy and so I did. I made time for my baby and for myself. In this blog, I am sharing my weight loss story with all of you. Losing weight was not easy, of course, but I lost 8 kg in 2 months.
I installed two applications in my smartphone which helped me track my calorie intake and overall health respectively. Here’s what I used to lose weight –
- A Calorie Tracker App – This application helped me keep a note of my calorie intake during the day.
- A Health Tracker App – The health tracker application kept track of the calories burned in a day.
These are two apps that helped me keep a count of my calorie intake and burned but I did a lot of exercises to lose weight. For burning calories, my workout included static running. I practiced static running when my baby used to be asleep, especially in the afternoon. Along with that, I also danced with my earphones on. It helped me lose weight too!
New moms who have no time for themselves but want to lose weight, don’t lose hope. I know finding time for yourself is not easy when you have a baby, but make time for yourself. Spend half an hour a day working out. You may not find time to workout for an hour or more but even half an hour is fine. You can workout 5 days a week – it will be sufficient.
Taking rest for two days rest will relax you give relax to your body and muscles. Give your body some time to heal.
I was 85 kg in full-term pregnancy. After the birth of my baby, I lose around 10 kg. So I started my weight loss journey when I weighed 74.9 kg. Now, I am 66.10 kg and still, I am trying to lose more weight. As per my body weight index (BMI) I should weigh 59 kg. And I am working towards my goal.
Losing your water weight is initially a bit easy, but losing weight after losing water weight is difficult. You need to burn more calories. And the two apps that I use help me keep track of my calorie intake and calories burnt. If you want to lose postpartum weight, start working out. You can start with walking if you like – just be consistent and you will reach your goal!
