- Beetroot slices/Slices of salami
- Cheddar cheese
- Black olives
- Carrots, Cucumbers, Bell peppers
Cut out a round base of the sandwich from fresh bread.
Place a slice of the salami on the base. Instead of salami, you could cut out betroot slices, or simply spread tomato sauce or mint chutney to add to the colours. Place cheese slices for taste.
Cut out a top layer of bread as shown to form the face of the birds.
Next cut cucumbers to resemble the eyes and slice olives for the eyes of the birds.
Cut triangular beaks and cut carrots to form the tail of the bird.
A number of other vegetables can be used to form the shapes of the bird’s body.
Shred lettuce/cabbage and place on the plate for background.
