How to Increase Your Breast Milk Supply

Motherhood is one of the most beautiful phases of a woman’s life. Breastfeeding your little one is the most wonderful experiences for a mother. As soon as the baby is born, a mother can start feeding her little one.

Breastmilk contains all the essential nutrients that a baby needs for his proper growth. It helps in building the immune strength of the baby. A mother needs to learn how to breastfeed a baby because if you feed him the wrong way then the baby might become cranky or you may have severe back pain. You will need to breastfeed your baby every 2 hours. Whenever you breastfeed him, make sure you hold the baby upright. Don’t bring your breast near to the baby but bring your little one near your breast.

A mother needs to eat a balanced diet to enrich the supply of breastmilk. When you eat properly, you will have a good supply of breastmilk which is very much important for the baby. You must include dairy products such as milk, paneer, iron-rich foods like green leafy veggies, protein-rich foods lentils and pulses, fats such as ghee, fruits, dry fruits, makhanas, salad, rice, etc in your diet. Avoid eating spicy and oily food as it can cause discomfort. And if you will be uncomfortable, your baby will be too.

Drinking plenty of water is also very important. As 80% of breastmilk is water, so you can imagine how important water is for breast milk production. If your breast milk supply is less, you can also check with a doctor if no remedy works for you. Your doctor will give you some medicines to increase the supply or else you can buy a breast pump and use it.

As a baby totally depends on his mother for his nutritional requirements, it is the responsibility of the mother and the family members to take care of the new mother so that she can take good care of her child. A mother’s milk is the best for a baby. It also contains antibodies which helps fight germs and several diseases. So, increase your breast milk supply and feed your little one!
