Corona Troubles of an Indian Mommy – A Baby’s Perspective
As the cases of coronavirus rise worldwide, our leaders are facing trouble containing the pandemic. While China has taken to its iron-handed approach to destroy the virus literally by imposing hefty fines on anyone failing to follow the prevention and control measures, South Korea has taken a more liberal approach to contain the virus by isolation. Elsewhere in the world, U.S President Donald Trump has taken to Namaste rather than the routine handshake. But, all that hullabaloo has left us, commoners, in India at the mayhem of what to do.
Amidst all this, several mythical posts, such as the coronavirus transmits through dirty poultry, are making rounds on Facebook and are rapidly converting non-vegetarians into vegetarians. Some have also quarantined themselves in their homes fearing the pandemic rather than being quarantined at the hospital.
The only answer to all these concerns at the moment – Do it all.
She, a commoner, student and the mom of a preschooler, is also facing the same problem of tackling the Corona mayhem in her own household. And, armed with sanitizers, hand wash dispensers, tissue rolls and wipes, she is battle-ready; prepared to face the virus as it is trying to take over the world.
Escaping the sneezes, travelling through the demons of the virus, she heads to the baby’s preschool, where she grills the school authorities with various hygiene measures they should take to avoid the virus. She places the mask and washes the outdoor clothes and objects every day like a Super Mummy!
A high tech mommy, she takes information from the WHO website and printed media. She is also glued to the TV whenever the word “Corona” is mentioned.
Back home, the husband is also being washed thoroughly to make him squeaky clean and germfree.
So, as the government cracks down on the virus on a national level, she is tackling the virus at a domestic level. Call her an authoritarian or Hitler because she truly is the dictator of the house, but with a heart.
On a Funny note,
The Baby of the Hitler Mommy.
