Q.
Sir my baby is having running nose for 5 days. my mom was doing mustard oil massage with rubbed jayfal in that. running nose has decreased. sneezing and coughing has also decreased but sometimes I see nasal discharge in form of running nose. his 14th week vaccination is due on 14th April, can we go ahead with it or medication should be given first

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy4 years agoA. common cold is not a contraindication for vaccination so definitely you can go for vaccination and do not worry much about simple cold which will come and go again and again kindly give nasal saline drops every three hourly and since it is a salt water it does not have any side effects and can be given again and again for nasal blockage and try to prevent temperature variations on the child and you can also give indirect steam inhalation and if there is no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor

shreya goelMom of a 7 yr 6 m old boy4 years agoA. Hello mom You should delay the vaccination for next 5 to 6 days because it is not good to provide vaccination if your baby is not feeling well. For cleaning baby’s nose you can also use nasal clear drops. Rather than this continue giving the home remedies treatment as you are giving. Happy parenting Stay home stay safe
