A. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine whuhich should be used once a proper evaluation by the docitor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed. if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

A. hello you can put saline drops and also use instant rub from babyhug which is effective and would help your child get relief from cold and in regards to the medicine it would be better to check with your doctor and she can guide you accordingly
