A. Dear mum, to lose weight after cesarean, eat mindfully and avoid foods which are high in calories, oily, processed and packaged foods. Have a balanced diet having variety of food groups. Have all seasonal fruits and vegetables even green leafy vegetables. Have lean proteins like eggs, beans, pulses, low fat milk and milk products. Have healthy fats from almonds, flaxseed. Have small frequent meals and adequate fluid intake. Consult doctor to check how your wounds have healed and based on doctor’s recommendations, you can begin to exercise. Start with mild exercises like brisk walk.
