Q.

Hi Doctor My son is 2 yrs 7months old He’s having cold for the past 2months , I’m giving him saline drops. But still he’s having cold. Due to his cold he’s having fever too and not taking foods. His weight drops up to 2kgs in the last 2months. Can you suggest a fast relief cold syrup

A. Cold is most of the time because of some viral infection or allergic condition and symptoms are usually sneezing, running nose, nasal congestion and fever. cough along with throat irritation are usually associated . Treatment consists of antiallergic antipyretics analgesics and decongestants medicine . As a home remedy steam inhalation would be very useful . Medicines like wikoryl / tminic / Alex cold can be usedf in a properh dose for 3-5 days as per the symptoms . Steam inhalation is repeated frequently .

A. hello mum if child is having cold as well as fever then this can be because of some infection as well so not only cold medicine will work here you should meet your doctor once for the proper checkup sometimes even the antibiotic is needed do not stop giving steam to the child
