Q.

Hi Doctor, my baby loves sweet items made out of jaggery and he is one year old. Is it ok to give him jaggery two three items a day ? He eats jaggery porridge, jaggery fruit purée etc. he does eat some savoury khichadi in lunch and dal roti at night though. But my concern is related to jaggery intake. What if I am giving him too much and it’s not good for him . Need advice. Thank you so much.

A. Thanks so much for your response doctor and Rashmi. I have made note of your point doctor Disha. Rashmi- not all babies and parenting have same story. I am learning and that’s why I posted my concern here. For baby- we can’t comment like how come and all. Hope you understand. Thanks again.

A. Too much of jaggery intake during the summer season is not very healthy and I’m not understanding that you must be giving salt from the beginning like the age of seven months itself how come your child is not interested in eating salty food that’s one thing as of now don’t have much of jaggery at equal salt to the food make it sweet and salty and gradually reduced on the amount of sweet and increase the amount of salt into foodWrite Your Answer Here
