A. If your 10-month-old baby is not gaining weight, don’t worry — we can work on this step by step. At this age, babies are active and may burn calories faster, but they still need nutrient-dense, high-calorie foods to support growth. Here's how to help your baby gain healthy weight: 1. Offer frequent meals Give 3 main meals + 2–3 snacks daily along with breast milk or formula. Don't wait too long between feeds — every 2–3 hours is good. 2. Add healthy fats to meals Use ghee, unsalted butter, or cold-pressed coconut oil in small amounts. Mash avocado or add a bit of peanut butter (if no allergy history) to porridge or fruit. 3. High-calorie foods to include: Banana, potato, sweet potato, ragi, paneer, cheese Moong dal khichdi with ghee Suji (semolina) halwa with a little ghee Oats porridge with milk or formula Boiled egg yolk (if non-vegetarian and baby is already introduced) 4. Avoid too much juice, water, or snacks with no nutrition — they fill up the stomach and reduce appetite for real food. 5. Track feeding and growth Keep a daily food chart. Weigh the baby every 15–20 days to check progress. Would you like a sample meal plan for your 10-month-old? Also let me know your baby’s current weight and birth weight so I can guide you better.
