Mom of a 5 m old boy2 months ago
Q.

#asktheexperts hi doctor, my 16 week old boy is 7.5kg now.. is this considered to be overweight? His birth weight was 3.21kg.I am mother with low milk supply, so I am giving him formula twice a day and the rest always breastfeeding. Shall I continue with this combination feeding?... Also want to know whether demand feeding or scheduled feeding which is apt for this age

A. See I’ll tell you this one thing here is that a child should gain at least minimum of 500 g and maximum 1 kg it can be there so if your child is gaining on that basis then it is okay but if you’re only giving formula twice in a day honestly the weight gain should not be this way the weight is I think despite of being low lactation mother you are feeding is enough for the child in terms of good weight gain so you can continue with the way you are right right now now
