ExpertDr.Rasika ThosarPaediatric Intensivist2 years agoA. you can use any oil which is preferable for you. it should be free of additives and should be pure.
massage mainly increases bonding between you and baby.
gives comfort to baby. soothing, relaxing for both of you.
helps in digestion, induces good sleep.
calcium strengthens bones, not massage.
so its really upto you , your time, baby's enjoyment, weather etc. no rules as such.
oil quantity needed is not much. itshould just get absorbed in skin. do not use excess oil. people put loads of oil on head to make skull stronger. its a myth.
time varies, depends on how long baby likes it.
have all fruits, veggies in your diet. home cooked fresh indian food with indian spices is perfect for breastfeeding mother. . you can have all the fruits , nothing to worry about. infact mild variety of flavors that baby gets in breast milk , helps in easy acceptance of baby foods in future
most important of all maintain good hydration. drink lots of fluids to avoid constipation in this period.
continue taking calcium supplements.
limit tea or coffee to 1 to 2 cups per day.
avoid aerated drinks.
