A. If your 3.8-year-old daughter has had a cold for 7 days despite taking Allerid syrup, it's important to reassess the situation: Check for Other Symptoms: If the cold is not accompanied by other severe symptoms (like a high fever, difficulty breathing, or chest congestion), it might be a simple viral cold, which can last up to a week or sometimes longer. Effectiveness of Allerid: Allerid syrup is generally used for relieving allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, or nasal congestion. If your child is still experiencing these symptoms after 7 days, it could be due to the cold not being entirely managed, or there might be another underlying cause like an allergic reaction or sinus issues. Duration of Treatment: It's usually okay to continue an allergy medicine for a short period, but if the cold persists beyond a week or symptoms worsen, it’s better to consult your pediatrician for further advice. The doctor might suggest a different treatment or check if there’s another issue. When to Stop: If there are no signs of improvement and the cold continues to persist without change, it’s important to consult your doctor for alternative medications or tests. If Allerid is not providing relief or causing any side effects, your doctor may recommend stopping the syrup. It’s always best to consult with your doctor if you're unsure about the duration of the treatment or if your child isn't improving. If her symptoms seem to be lingering or worsening, a healthcare professional can offer the best guidance.
