Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 7 m old boy3 years agoA. This may due to either allergy or infection and some times due to climate changes and temperature variations . For cold you can give drops wikoryl AF 0.5 ml to the child 2-3 times per day. try to prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops frequently for nasal blockage, simple cough and cold. Indirect steam is helpful. Home remedies like Tulsi Ginger diluted with water combination (honey can xbe added after 1 year age)and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day. Give warm water to drink If no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor paracetamol for fever and pain

Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms loiike cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
