#AskTheExpert My baby is 1 month old and having cold and cough since 4 days. I am using mucus cleaner and nasal drops with doctor advice. I see very little improvement in her condition. Could you please advise how long it will take for her cold to completely cure and is there anything else which I can do?

A. This may due to either allergy or infection and some times due to climate changes and temperature variations . For cold you can give drops wikoryl AF 0.5 ml to the child 2-3 times per day. try to prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops frequently for nasal blockage, simple cough and cold. Indirect steam is helpful. Home remedies like Tulsi Ginger diluted with water combination (honfey can be added after 1 year age)and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day. Give warm water to drink If no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor paracetamol for fever and pain
