#AskTheExpert My baby boy is 13 years old and he is having fever from 2 days. I have given 1.5ml of paracetamol in 6 hours of gap. But still my baby is having fever and cold. For cold - I have given 3ml of Asthalin and Wikoryl yesterday. But what should I do for fever ? Also what food should be given this time? Please suggest

A. Sorry. I have by mistake written 13 years. He is 13 months old. I have given Paracetamol (T-98) 1.5ml. The weather is changing and here it is very cold because of rainfall. So, still there is no need of sweater ?

A. the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should zbe carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water. higher medicines (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor.
