#AskTheExpert My 25 days old baby had a cold and a pediatrician advised to give xone xp IM injection (ceftriaxone + tazobactam) but there was no improvement. When we visited another pediatrician he simply told that the cold will go on its own and the injection should have been avoided at the first place. Please advise if there is any side effect for my baby from that injection (we took 20 days back).

A. Thanks for the response. The injection was as prescribed by the doctor. I am worried now as another doctor said that injection was unnecessary. So please suggest if the injection does not have any after side effects if it was not required at the first place.

A. it is some sepsis. Pediatrician should be consulted for this as it may be some underlying problem with the baby . No any medication should be given to baby with out consulting doctor and proper examination .
