#AskTheExpert Hello Sir , In winter season sometimes My daughter is a having running nose issue .Please suggest me what we can do in this situation..?

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .weight gain in a child is a good indicator for proper health of the child and there should be a regular weight gain htas per the age of the child. if there is not a proper weight gain it can be because of many factors like nutritional factor some chronic infection or malabsorption which needs to be ruled out.
