#AskTheExpert hello dr. i have hypothyroid i.e 6.8. planning to concieve so is there any chances of thyroid passing to my child? my parents are diabetic so is there any chances of me being diabetic post pregnancy ? please answer

A. Hello dear. if you start taking thyroxine medications right away and get your thyroid within control it won’t harm your baby in anyway but as the mother is having hypothyroidism the baby might have chances of getting the same and that will be checked after birth. As both of your parents are diabetic you have a chance of getting diabetes even during pregnancy. So you have to keep checking for that alsoWrite Your Answer Here
