Q.

#askdoctors is a plant based diet good for toddlers or do they have to depend on other supplements and multivitamins? Is it possible to give all nutrition from plant based food? Not even cow milk.

A. Plant-based milk has all the required ingredients only if you follow it strictly. I mean you practise making milk on regular basis.

A. Hi If baby can tolerate milk, you can give baby cow's milk. however, it is still possible to get required nutrition from plant based diet for proper growth Give pulses, sprouts, almond milk, tofu, almonds, walnuts, dates, cashews, Vegetables daily.

A. Well-planned vegetarian and vegan eating patterns can be healthful and appropriate for all stages of the lifecycle, including infants and toddlers. Time and attention are necessary to help young children, vegetarian or not, get all the nutrients they need for normal growth and development.
