Rava laddoos are classic, time tested and super easy to make too! These simple sweets make the rounds during the festive season. With ingredients that are almost always available on our kitchen shelves, rava laddoo can be made in a jiffy. Rava laddoos can be stored for a fortnight and can double as a quick snack too.
- 1 cup rava
- 1 cup sugar
- 10 cashew nuts
- 15 raisins
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/2 cup ghee
- 1/4 cup milk
Heat 2 tsp of ghee and roast rava over low flame till rava turns golden brown and you get a nice aroma of roasted rava.
Let the rava cool on a plate and then grind it to a coarse powder in a mixer. Grinding the rava to a fine powder will not render the desired texture.
Following the rava, grind sugar into a fine powder.
To the ground rava, add the ground sugar and cardamom powder. Mix the three well.
Now, break the cashew nuts to smaller pieces and fry them along with raisins in ghee and add them to the rava-sugar-cardamom powder mix.
Now add milk to the above mixture little by little. Cup the mixture in your palm and check if it holds. If it does, make laddoos and place them on a plate to cool. Add more milk till the mixture holds.
Check if the laddoos have hardened and serve.
