Home Remedies for a Sore Throat

1. Saltwater Gargles

Gargling with salt water can help treat a sore throat. If your child has a sore throat, ask him to gargle with warm salt water 4-5 times a day. This will help kill the bacteria and provide relief from irritation that persists during a sore throat.





2.  Gargling with Green Tea

Not many people know this but gargling with freshly brewed green tea can also help with a sore throat. However, you must gargle with warm green tea or hot tea might burn your tongue and throat. Gargling with warm green tea can also keep the bacteria away.

3. A Mix of Honey and Black Pepper Powder

If you want to try this remedy, take 2- 3 tablespoons of honey. Add 1 teaspoon of black pepper powder to it. Mix well and eat it. Try this remedy 4-5 times a day for it to show results. This remedy can provide relief from a sore throat for a long time. You can also add ginger juice to it for additional benefits.




4. Drink Ginger Tea

Take a piece of ginger and grate it. Add this grated ginger to water and boil it. Boil it for some time then strain the liquid and drink it warm. You may also add a little honey to it. This helps to soothe a sore throat. You can drink ginger tea 2-3 times a day.

5. Drink Tulsi Tea

Tulsi is known for the various health benefits it offers. Boil a few tulsi leaves in water and drink it warm. You may also add a little honey to it for better results. You can also drink this it 3-4 times a day.





6. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is known for its ability to fight infections. It can be consumed in moderation in a cup of water to get some relief from sore throat.

7. Liquorice Root

Liquorice root has been used for ages to treat a sore threat. You can chew a piece of liquorice root to get quick relief. Additionally, you may also boil it in some water and drink the water or do gargles to get relief.
