Yes, it is right our daughter is really a blessing! Hi, my name is Arushi and my little girl’s name is Pranika and she is 2 years old. I cannot forget that magical date ’14/02/17′, as 2 years ago on that day, my husband Yuvraj and I got married (14/02/15). And for us, she is our Valentine!
I gave birth to her in our home town and she was just 2.5 months old when I brought her here to Bangalore. Since then, we are just 3 members here with no help. It has been a roller coaster ride but it’s worthy for motherhood. My daughter always had a good sleeping routine that I manage very well, so I will share with you guys some of the timings that have worked for us.
My toddler’s sleeping habits until now are very good. She sleeps a lot and I make her sleep like this:
• Earlier she would take 3 naps and sleep for long at night till she turned 1, like 10 am – 12 pm, 2 pm – 4 pm, 6 pm – 7 pm and bedtime was 9.30 pm – 8 am. And no matter what happened, I had never compromised on that.
• After 12 months till she turned 20 months, the routine was as follows: 10 am – 12 pm, 3 pm – 4 pm and 8 pm – 7 am. And after that till now it’s 1 pm – 3 pm and 8 pm – 7 am.
Dear mommies, don’t compromise with your child’s sleep. Sleeping is very important for their brain and body development. Their daily schedule should not be changed. Always take them for walking, parks, play with them, spend time with them. The more they become active, the better they sleep.
Their bedtime should be early at night, in between 7 pm – 9 pm and no napping after 4 pm as they’ll not sleep early. Avoid screentime completely. Do not get irritated if it takes time to make your child sleep – it happens, and children take time to get used to that.
I know this journey is not easy, it makes us angry, frustrated, feeling lonely, especially if we have no help around. But we are mothers and we have to be tough. We bring a new life into the world and we should be proud of ourselves. Enjoy motherhood!
