POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. If your daughter is spitting out water after drinking, not eating, and is cranky, it may be due to:
Teething – causes discomfort, crankiness, and less interest in food or water. Mild throat infection – makes swallowing uncomfortable. Stomach upset – can cause refusal of food and water. Tiredness or irritation – some toddlers spit or refuse food when overtired or emotionally upset.
What to do:
Try offering cool water with a spoon or small sips. Give easy-to-swallow, soft foods like curd, mashed banana, or dal water. Check for fever, cough, or signs of dehydration (dry lips, less urine, sunken eyes). Keep her calm and comforted—sometimes they need extra cuddling when unwell.
If this continues for more than a day, or she shows signs of dehydration or fever, please consult a pediatrician immediately.
