Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.
steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest.
As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintainjued .

I suggest you please if you're child have any discomfort
please consult with your pediatrician about this matter because physical examination of child is important for proper diagnosis and treatment
