Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup millet (such as foxtail or finger millet)
- 1 cup water or homemade vegetable broth
- Vegetables (optional), finely chopped (e.g., carrots, peas, spinach)
- Ghee or butter (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions:
1. Rinse the millet under cold water and drain well.
2. In a small pot, bring the water or vegetable broth to a boil.
3. Add the rinsed millet to the boiling water/broth and reduce the heat to low.
4. Cover and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the millet is soft and cooked through. Stir occasionally.
5. If using vegetables, add them during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking, depending on their cooking time.
6. Once cooked, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
7. Mash or puree the cooked millet and vegetables to the desired consistency for your baby. You can use a fork, potato masher, or blender.
