Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children3 years agoA. This could be umbilical hernia. If there is a protruding bellybutton, which in infants may be most noticeable when they cry. If it is tender or swollen or discoloured and causing discomfort to the baby then it should be examined by the pediatrician immediately. Or else it will cure on its own and can take upto a year. If u r worried get it examined by ur pediatrician once.
