Q.

my son is suffey from thyroid...he is taking 12.5 mg thyroxin..he will have to take it like forever ?? he is over weight....he is 6 & half year old and weighs 40kg

A. Some children will need to take hormones for life. Other children may outgrow the disorder. Hypothyroidism can impair a child's normal growth and development. It's important for a child to continue treatment until after puberty.

A. Hi mom Medicine will be given forever or not can't be predicted.... Consult with your doctor for the same as he will guide you better in this situation after the proper evaluation of the reports. Take care and all the best
