Q.

my son is one year 10 months old..he hasn't started talking as such..he calls umma uppa and makes all other soumds .other than that he use actions to convey things. is there anything to worry

A. After 9 months, babies can understand a few basic words like "no" and "bye-bye." They also may begin to use a wider range of consonant sounds and tones of voice. Baby talk at 12-18 months. Most babies say a few simple words like "mama" and "dadda" by the end of 12 months -- and now know what they're saying.

A. Hello dear parent! Avoid screens. Communicate more with your child. Keep telling stories and sing and play together. Read stories from Babyhug bedtime stories and encourage your child to express and respond. Few elders suggest to give a teaspoon of honey in the mornings for better health and speech.
