Q.

my daughter having fever cold and cough for 4 days consulted the doctor giving paracetamol and attached syrup for cold ND cough.from today morning fever settle down..but suddenly in night her body feels warm .. cold and cough still there why it's so?? shall want to consult Dr or continue paracetamol for next 2 days.. pls give suggestions

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which nceeds treatment accordingly along with a propcdxer hydration needs to be maintained .
