Q.

My daughter has suddenly stopped eating solids. she used to have 3meals a day but now she doesn't eat even one spoon. she is completely on BM. she is well.. sleeps well.. plays well.. talks well. she shows interest in what we eat. I know that she is teething as her two teeths have come. Is this because of Teething? what do I do. please suggest. I am very stressed right now.

A. it is advisable to continue your efforts in feeding the child. many times it take more efforts from the parents to make the child eat nutritious food. so kindly go for different recipes and flavours s which might improve the appetite of the child. At the same time it is also important to meet your doctor to rule out nutritional deficiency which might be the cause of loss of appetite. Give juice fruits and water which will improve appetite and regular physical activity.

A. hi dear When your baby can bring his or her hands and objects to the mouth (typically around 9 to 12 months), you can slowly decrease mashed/baby foods and offer more finger foods. A child will typically self-feed from 9 to 12 months, and will not use a fork or spoon until after 12 months of age.
