Q.

My baby is 7weeks now,he is having cold..can anyone suggest home remedies and any syrup if needed

A. Cold is a viral illness and symptoms could be sneezing, running nose, cough sore throat, nasal congestion and fever. Treatment consists of antihistamines antipyretics analgesics and dedcongestants . steam inhalation would be beneficial . Medicines lidke sinarest/wikoryl / Alex cold can be given in a proper dose according to the weight for 3-5 days as per the symptoms .

A. Hello dear parent! Try giving indirect steam inhalation to reduce the discomfort. Warm up coconut oil with crushed camphor. Apply this mixture to the baby’s chest, throat, back and feet soles gently twice a day. Give warm water and warm freshly prepared homemade foods like vegetable soups or khichadi. Continue breastfeeding.
