Q.

My baby is 5 months old. His scalp looks dry and having white scales or flakes. Looks like it's causing him discomfort due to which he often rubs his scalp. So we consulted Pediatrician and shown him. He said, It is common for a baby to have a dry scalp(cradle cap) at some point, particularly few weeks after birth and is most common at 3 months of age. So he prescribed cradle cap cream and told us to apply it on affected area of scalp for 15 min before he takes his bath. We applied it for 5 days and saw the improvement that almost all white scales went off. So we stopped applying cream on his scalp and it started developing whitel flakes agian. But problem is his hairs are getting fallen after applying the cream. So we don't want to apply the cream any more. Hence please suggest me whether should i consult dermatologist and get their inputs too in this regard?..

A. good evening you don't have to consult a dermatologist for this it is really common for small children to be having cradle cap the problem will get automatically resolved don't have to worry about the hair fall because after the couple of months you will get the head shaved completely after that the child would have a better hair growth
