Q.

My baby is 22 months old and was having cold… a week back but it was watery now its mucus is thick .. i am giving diphen 5 which contains diphengydramine hydrochloride bp 5 mg, ammonium chloride bp 62.5mg, sodium citrate bp 50mg. Is this correct for cold and cough? Giving it 3 times 2.5 ml a day. Giving it since week. How long cold persists? Baby has no fever at all and is very active.

A. please give ascoril flu drops Cold and cough in small babies are because of viral infections you have to treat them symptomatically with steam inhalation and saline drops in the nose of the baby e they will subside generally in a week's time
